corona....  the end of the world?

Where corna viruses come from

Coronaviruses are common in many different species of animals, including camels and bats. These coronaviruses can rarely develop, infect humans and then spread among
Humans. Recent examples include SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.

What virus is causing the disease in Wuhan?

It's a new coronavirus - a member of the family of the coronavirus that has never been encountered before. Like other coronary viruses, it has come from animals. Many of the injured either work or shop frequently at the Wholesale Seafood Market in Huanan in downtown China, which has also sold live and slaughtered animals. New and irritating viruses usually arise in host animals. Ebola and influenza are other examples.

What are other Coronaviruses?

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers) are caused by coronaviruses that come from animals. Although it is believed that Merz's disease is transmitted to humans by camels (Arab beauty), the original hosts of both Corona viruses may have been bats. In 2002, SARS actually spread uncontrolled to 37 countries.

Causing global panic, more than 8,000 people were injured and more than 750 were killed. Tuberculosis patients seem to be easily transmitted from human to human, but have a larger lethality, killing 35% of the approximately 2,500 people who have been infected.
What are the symptoms of the Wohan coronavirus?

The virus causes pneumonia. Those who have contracted the disease reportedly suffer from cough, fever and breathing difficulties. In severe cases there can be organ failure. Because this is viral pneumonia, antibiotics are useless. The antiviral drugs that we have against influenza will not work. If people are hospitalized, they may receive support for their lungs and other organs as well as fluids. Healing depends on the strength of their immune system. Many of those who died were already in poor health.

Is the virus transmitted from person to person?

China's National Health Commission has confirmed human-to-human transmission. As of January 30, the death toll in China was 170, with more than 7,500 confirmed cases. Last week, the number of confirmed infections more than tripled, and cases were detected in 13 provinces, in addition to the municipalities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Tianjin. The presence of the virus has been confirmed outside mainland China,

In Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, Nepal, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam. Two people from one family have been confirmed to be infected with the virus in the UK, after more than 160 people were tested and found to be negative. The actual number of people who have been infected with the virus can be much higher as people with mild symptoms may not be detected. Modelling by who experts at Imperial College London suggests that there may be up to 100,000 cases, with uncertainty that determines the margins between 30,000 and 200,000 cases.

How worried are the experts?

There were fears of the spread of the coronavirus during the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which began on January 24, when millions of Chinese were traveling home to celebrate, but were cancelled When millions of Chinese traveled to their country to celebrate, but the celebrations were largely canceled, Wuhan and other Chinese cities in Hubei province in insurance. At the moment, it appears that people with poor health are most at risk,

As always with influenza infection. The main concern is how severe the symptoms are - some people seem to have only a mild illness while others have a severe illness. This makes it more difficult to determine the actual number of infected people and the extent of transmission. But the authorities are eager to stop the spread of the disease and worry about whether the virus could become more powerful than it looks so far.
Should I go to the doctor if I have a cough?

Unless you have recently traveled to China or have been in contact with someone who has the virus, you should naturally treat any symptoms of a cough or cold. The NHS advises that there is no need to visit a doctor for a cough unless it is persistent or you are experiencing other symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing or you feel very unwell generally.

How to protect yourself from infection with corona virus

Why is this worse than regular flu?

We don't yet know how dangerous a new coronavirus is, and we will not know until more data is entered. The 170 deaths out of about 7,700 reported cases mean that the death rate is around 2%. However, this is likely an overrated estimate because more people may have been infected with the virus but have not had enough severe symptoms to be admitted to hospital, and therefore have not been counted. For comparison,

The seasonal flu death rate is usually less than 1% and is believed to cause around 400,000 deaths each year globally. SARS had a mortality rate of more than 10%. Another unknown key, which scientists must get a clearer idea of in the coming weeks, is the prevalence of the Coruna virus. The crucial difference is that unlike influenza, there is no vaccine for the new coronavirus, which means that it is more difficult for vulnerable populations - the elderly or those with respiratory or immune problems - to protect themselves. Hand washing and avoiding others if you feel unwell are important. A reasonable step is getting the flu vaccine, which reduces the burden on health services if the outbreak turns into a broader epidemic.
Should we panic?

No. The spread of the virus outside China is worrying, but it is not an unexpected development. It increases the likelihood that the WHO will declare the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. The main issues are the extent to which this new coronavirus is transmitted between people and what percentage of severe illness they end up in the hospital. Easily spread viruses often have a milder effect.

Healthcare workers may be at risk if they unexpectedly encounter a person with respiratory symptoms who traveled to an affected area. In general, coronavirus appears to infect elderly people severely, with few cases in children.

Most coronaviruses infect animals, but not humans. In the future, one or more of the may develop

These other coronaviruses spread to humans, as in the past. We still don't understand why only some coronavirus can infect people
Other corona viruses

MERS-CoV (beta-coronavirus that causes respiratory syndrome in the Middle East, or MERS)
SARS-CoV (mitral beta virus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS)
2019 Novon Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

People around the world usually catch HIV-229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1.

Sometimes, corona viruses that infect animals, sick people and develop new human coron viruses can develop. Three recent examples are 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV.
